Find the Light does not seek out professionals such as psychologists, mental health counselors, social workers, psychiatrists, or any other mental health professional to moderate or provide advice to this group. We are not a therapy site and should NEVER be used as a substitute for treatment with a mental health professional. We are to be used as an adjunct to therapy. We ask that any professionals that do join would take the time to e-mail the Administration so that we may share the mission of this site. All professionals are welcomed however are expected to honor the mission of Find the Light being a peer run support group.
This board and its individual forums are open for Members to read and post. We ask that you abide by the following guidelines so that we can provide support and share information and experiences in a fair, positive, and ordered fashion. These guidelines are in place in order to maintain the integrity of the message board and the group as a whole.

All members are responsible for replying to any private message from Administration at any time. All members are also responsible for replying to any and all emails sent from Administration. If this is not abided by your membership will be suspended.
1. Spamming, soliciting, or the request for information such as research is not permitted. Consequence: You will receive 1 warning, and if there is failure to comply your membership status will be suspended pending investigation with the Administration.
2. Find the Light is a "peer" run support group, and thusly Members are not to give out or attempt to diagnosis anyone. A Member is not to "tell" someone what to do in regards to their treatment. However, we can in a supportive manner make suggestions or share experiences. Experiential knowledge or having "been there" can be invaluable in supporting others. Consequence: You will receive 1 warning, and if there is failure to comply your membership status will be suspended pending investigation with the administration.
3. Please refrain from using vulgar or inappropriate language or images. Please keep within the PG guidelines similar to those used for movies. Images that are used other than what is available on our reply page should also follow the guidelines. Rude or dirty jokes or phrases are also extremely inappropriate thus not allowed. Such material may be deleted. You will be sent a warning email requesting that you discontinue posting such items. Consequence: You will receive 1 warning, and if there is failure to comply your membership status will be suspended pending investigation with the administration.
4. Making fun of anyone, disease or disorder will not be tolerated. Consequence: You will receive 1 warning, and if there is failure to comply your membership status will be suspended pending investigation with the Administration.
5. Racial, ethnic, religious, political, and/or gender based insults or discriminations direct and/or indirect will not be tolerated. Consequence: You will receive 1 warning, and if there is failure to comply your membership status will be suspended pending investigation with the Administration.
6. No threats or threatening statements will be tolerated. Consequence: Your membership status will be suspended pending investigation with the Administration.
7. No promotion of illegal activities will be tolerated. Any sarcastic posts that joke about intoxication (getting drunk and/or high) that can be construed as a trigger will either be deleted or edited. Consequence: You will receive 1 warning, and if there is failure to comply your membership status will be suspended pending investigation with the Administration.
8. No harassment (To irritate or torment persistently, to wear out, to exhaust) of any kind directed to any Member, Moderator and/or Administration will be tolerated. The same guidelines apply to the private messaging system. If at any time you are harassed or approached with behavior that is against any of the guidelines please forward the message to the Administration. Consequence: You will receive 1 warning, and if there is failure to comply your membership status will be suspended pending investigation with the Administration.
9. No personal attacks of any kind will be tolerated in the forums. Consequence: You will receive 1 warning, and if there is failure to comply your membership status will be suspended pending investigation with the Administration.
10. All links posted and placed in personal profiles are reviewed by the Moderators, and may be removed if they are found to be inappropriate or offensive in any manner. Material posted should be PG Rated. Please remember, material posted by Members doesn't necessarily reflect the views and opinions of the Administration. Find the Light cannot be held responsible for any content outside of this site.
11. Duplicate memberships are not allowed. Maintaining duplicate accounts with two separate user names will fall under misrepresentation of you and the same consequences applied.
12. The forums are organized for ease of use. Please post in appropriate forums. If your post is not in an appropriate forum, it may be moved to the appropriate location or deleted by our Admin team.
13. Any impersonation of a Member, or misrepresentation within the forums, in any mode of communication, will not be tolerated. Consequence: Your membership status will be suspended pending an investigation with the Administration.
14. Confidentiality is of the utmost importance at Find the Light. In order to protect the privacy of each and every Member there is to be no copying and pasting from the forums, private messages, and/or private correspondences shared in confidence between Members and/or the Administrative team via email or any other mode of communication. Find the Light will not be held accountable for such breaches of confidence. Bearing this in mind, please use caution when posting messages in knowing that anything said can be repeated to anyone anywhere. Consequence: You will receive 1 warning, and if there is failure to comply your membership status will be suspended pending investigation with the Administration.
By use of this board you agree that Find the Light reserves the right to edit, copy, or delete any information or content (links) that you post if they are in violation of board guidelines.
These forums are moderated by our volunteer staff that are selected and empowered by the Administration, and will enforce these guidelines. There may be times that said investigations will result in banning of a Member for the overall good of the group. All care will be taken to ensure that due process occurs with each investigation; furthermore, any member may be suspended or banned at the owner's/founder's discretion if it is found to benefit the group.
While the Administration realizes that conflicts among Members may occur, we strongly encourage that you work it out amongst yourselves privately via the private messaging system or email. If this cannot be accomplished Administration will strive to resolve any issues in an amicable nature and expect the members to do the same. At such a time when the Administration has been called upon to intervene or investigate a situation regarding a Member, the Administration requires proof of said allegations and reserves the right to share allegations, proofs, and any necessary information to the Member being investigated. In such cases a Member should be prepared to be involved by means of emailing and private messaging with the staff and the Member the complaint was filed against so that a reasonable and agreeable resolution may be reached. Being that this is a support group that fosters positive communication the Administration expects that all Members will always be amicable and treat Members of the Administration and others with respect and dignity.
There is a screening process for all new members. After completing the membership form you will be sent an email with screening questions to answer in reply. PLEASE ALLOW EXTRA TIME FOR RESPONSE-UP TO A WEEK. You will be alerted as to whether or not your membership has been accepted. New memberships that have not been approved will remain active for two weeks then deleted from the system. Thank you.
